Location details: On a triangular traffic island between the village hall and the primary school, near the junction with Church St.
Netherseal is usually so spelt today but was formerly spelt Netherseale.

Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible.

Description:
A rough hewn grey granite wheel cross on a battered pedestal and two-stepped base. A sword of peace is carved in relief on the 6 o’clock face of the cross shaft and the WW1 inscription is incised on the 6 o’clock face of the pedestal in upright capital block lettering coloured black. A small additional tablet is set into the 6 o’clock face at the foot of the pedestal on which is incised the WW2 inscription, also in upright capital block lettering coloured black.

History
|
1920-21: The memorial was designed and erected by Mr H C Mitchel of Tamworth.
22nd May, 1921: The memorial was unveiled by Sir George Beaumont Bt at a service conducted by the Vicar and Wesleyan Minister.
Unknown date: The WW2 tablet was added.
13th July, 1978: The memorial lies within the Netherseal Conservation Area first designated on that date.
19th June, 2008: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition.
