Overall condition: Good The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.
|
Description:
A framed and glazed roll of honour. The roll is executed in coloured calligraphy and has a badge drawn at the head. The dedication is in black upright capital lettering with some coloured initials and the village name in blue. Below that are crossed sprigs of laurel drawn in greens and browns and then follows the names in two columns. Each name is in in black sentence case lettering with rubricated initials, followed by the unit in blue lettering. The first name on the list is marked with a gold cross to indicate that he died; the remaining names are in no obvious order. The footnote is in blue capital lettering. The frame is of dark stained oak.

History and Conservation
|
10th November, 1967: The church was listed Grade II*, Heritage List for England number 1088344.
23rd November, 1977: The Swarkestone Conservation Area was designated. The church lies within its area.
11th February 2018: The memorial was surveyed by Richard Roberts. It was in good condition and well cared for although the roll appears to have some slight foxing.
