Overall condition: Fair. The inscription is legible and the memorial is cared for.

Description:
A Hopton limestone monument comprising a stepped and tapered pillar on a plinth and two-stepped base and surmounted by a wheeled fourchée cross. A christograph is carved at the top of the pillar and the inlaid inscription is in mainly lower case gothic lettering for WW1 and upper case block lettering for WW2.

History and Conservation
|
c1920: The memorial was made of Hopton Limestone.
9th January, 1921: The memorial was unveiled by Capt George M Buckston, 1/1st Derbyshire Yeomanry, and dedicated by Rev F F Kay, Rural Dean and rector of Egginton.
Unknown date: The WW2 inscription was added.
3rd March, 2011: The memorial was surveyed by Roy Branson and Alan Willmot. It was in fair condition and cared for.
